This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice for anyone. For any of those, you need to reach the sheriff's warrant unit or the issuing court directly.
Need Official Warrant Information?
Here's where to route the questions most people ask about in Montgomery County:
- Whether a warrant exists: contact the sheriff's warrant unit, the office that serves warrants and can confirm an outstanding one by name and date of birth
- A bench warrant for a missed court date: contact the court that set the case - often a municipal or justice-of-the-peace court - since that court issued and holds the warrant
- Resolving or clearing a warrant: talk to a licensed Texas attorney and the issuing court about a recall, a surrender, or posting bond
- An arrest warrant tied to a charge: the issuing court sets the charge and bond; the sheriff's warrant unit serves it
For a searchable county-level entry, use the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Warrant Search portal. The search requests a full last name and first letter of the first name, with an optional middle initial, or a warrant number. For an existing sheriff's office record, use the agency's Records and Open Records request route through GovQA. The District Clerk and County Clerk maintain different court records; a sheriff's search does not replace either clerk's case index.
